They have made progress with the non-medical CERT (volunteer Citizens Emergency Response Teams) by training them in health issues.  Also, this county has housed a project called “We Care” that helps organize volunteer doctors so they can see indigent patients in their own office.  The person who coordinates this effort could also branch off the CERT effort and do more of a formal MRC effort. 

Citrus County is working to identify a local chapter point of contact and someone willing to serve as Coordinator for Citrus County Chapter of WCFMRC. The WCFMRC regional leadership will provide the training and assistance needed to get a chapter established.  This will include CRIS training, ID badge printer/scanner training and installation and the web based training.  There will be assistance in getting the chapter up and running as well as continuous assistance and sharing information and resources from across the region (other chapters).
